6 Hot Questions about Muslims
LI: To understand difierents cultures
In the past 2 week’s our reading group has been learning about the culture Afghanistan. The text we read was called All as One. This is about how one culture comes together and pray in one room with men and women divided.
After reading this text we wrote some questions that we thought we wanted to know. When writing the questions we needed to use might, could, should, or would to make our questions better.
Some examples we wrote were:
.
What might have happened if an adult eat during fasting?
What might happen if a muslim said something wrong during praying?
Who might have the idea of introducing the scarf for woman
When might have the quran been written?
Where did the muslim culture start?
What might have happen if a muslim said the wrong thing during praying.

Provocation: Should masks be compulsory on NZ public transport?
LI: To identify and consider the two perspectives of this provocation to help me form an opinion.
Today we made a provocation DLO. A provocation is an action or speech that triggers strong feelings about a topic. Today we considered both sides of the provocation which is the YES and the NO our provocation was Should masks be compulsory on NZ public transport?’ We then used that information to help us form an opinion that we were all happy with our decision. Our opinion was a Yes and No because there are some reasons for why we need to wear a mask and there are some reasons why we shouldn’t wear one. Both Yes and No reasons are equally important. We need to stay safe and away from the Covid 19 and other diseases.

Science: Summarizing the text | Reading
This week for reading our focus is science. For this second activity my group and I skimmed and scanned our notes and shared ideas to create a collaborative summary explaining ‘what is science?’. We divided our lengthy summary into 3 following paragraphs: an introduction on science, the 4 main categories of science and the two types of science. We used a question dice that helped us with our learning and made us ask questions to help us think about our subject and provide ideas for our summary.
Science
- Science is divided into 3 branches, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.
- Basic science is knowing something and applied science is using what we know.
- Science is the knowledge behind every question.

Sky Tower
This week for our home learning we used our researching and creative thinking to do this task. We started on finding 5 interesting facts about the tower. Then we had a task on making a new mascot for the sky tower so we combined our knowledge together to make our own. After that we chose a place in the sky tower that is exiting so we chose the bungy jump. We chose this one because it could be a fascinating thing to talk about on.
