L.I: To share 5 facts about light that we find interesting.

This DLO shows 5 interesting facts about light. These facts were from our knowledge. I worked with Liletina and Heavenly to get this DLO finished. These facts helps us and other find out more about light. The fact I liked most was Light is made out of 7 colors which is called ROYGBIV.

How Periscopes Work

L.I To  explain how a periscope works.

This DLO shows how a Periscope work. I worked with Heavenly and Liletina to create this DLO about how periscope works.  We all shared our ideas about how persicope works. If you want to find out about how it works and how it helps us read out DlO to understand it.

Food Technology

L.I To make veggie noodles.

Today for food technology we made veggie noodles first we got our veggies and noodles then we got our big pot and added water into the big pot and then Mrs Tuipulotu came and lit the oven. After that we added our noodles into the hot pot and stir it then we got our vege’s.  Then  we diced  the veggies. Then we got our big pan and added 2 tablespoon of oil into the big pan. After we tern of the oven andand we drain the noodles, Mrs Tuipulotu came and turned on the oven, then we added our vege  into the big pan with the oil. At the end we added our sours into our noodle with the vegetate we got our bowl and it was Delicious The hardest part for us is to cut the onion and the galic.The onion  made our eyes sore that we cried.

Math challenge

LI: To find the most efficient strategy to answer the question

This week our group practiced finding the answer to written maths questions. To do this we needed to first find the numbers we were working with. We decided the most efficient strategy was to use our times table knowledge. Being able to find how many groups of a number made this strategy efficient.

Hot cake recipe

LI: To structure and write a procedural text

For writing we have been learning how to write a procedural text. To do this we used the recipe we followed at Tech. This procedure tells the reader how to make hot cakes. Before we wrote this we worked collaboratively to order the pictures Mrs Anderson took of us making the hotcakes. Once we had done that we matched each photo with a verb. A verb is an action word and tells anyone following the recipe what they need to do. After that we use the verbs as sentence starters and collaboratively wrote a list of instructions.

Summarising

LI: To explain in fewer words  what the text  is about

This week for reading we completed a work task which was summarising. We needed to summarise the text and what the text was all about. After that we wrote down 20 important words and then chose 6 main words, and used the 6 main words in a sentences to write our summary.
